Fixing
Fixing Installation to Concrete
Mechanical Fixing
SST Recommended Fixings: FM753 3DG – M10x75 (code 75320c10075)
Recommended Concrete Pad Size: 300mm Wide x 300mm Long x 300mm Deep (see illustration below)
Recommended Concrete Grade: C25 (mixing ratio of 1:1.5:3 (Cement:Sharp Sand:Aggregate) with typically 0.5 water-cement ratio)
Installation Instructions:
- Position the post-base centrally on the concrete pad.
- Identify and mark out the position for the anchors.
- Drill holes perpendicular to the concrete surface, Ø10 x 70mm deep.
- Clean the dust from the holes 3 times using a brush, pump or vacuum. This is a crucial step.
- Reposition the post base and insert the anchors (tap gently with a hammer if needed) and use a torque wrench to tighten to the recommended installation torque of 50Nm
Resin Fixing
SST Recommended Fixings: LMAS M10x110 (code LMAS1016085010)
SST Recommended Resin: ATHP
Recommended Concrete Pad Size: 300mm Wide x 300mm Long x 300mm Deep (see illustration below)
Recommended Concrete Grade: C25 (mixing ratio of 1:1.5:3 (Cement:Sharp Sand:Aggregate) with typically 0.5 water-cement ratio)
Installation Instructions:
- Position the post-base centrally on the concrete pad.
- Identify and mark out the position for the anchors.
- Drill holes perpendicular to the concrete surface, Ø12 x 85mm deep.
- Clean the dust from the holes 3 times using a brush, pump or vacuum. This is a crucial step.
- Add Resin using dispenser and fill the hole half-way
- Remove nut and washer from anchors, then Insert the anchors carefully into the holes
- Once resin has hardened (check for a change in colour) reposition the post base over the top of the anchors, after carefully cleaning excess resin from the area
- Use a torque wrench to tighten to the recommended installation torque of 50Nm
PLEASE NOTE – Anchor performance will only be valid when using Simpson AT-HP Resin
Installation
Timber install
- Make out positions for coach Screws
- Drive home coach screws (SSH10x60 - 75151) through holes in base, into end grain of the timber
